I am going to Paris in May. Yes, it is true. This is part of my grand design for the year leading up to my 70th birthday, to do as many different things each month, have as many new adventures as possible this year. And, for May, I chose my first trip to Paris. Why not. I will chronicle my adventure, impressions, thoughts and ideas each day. My grandson, Kyle, has kindly loaned me his netbook for the week so that I can write, and having writ move on to the next day and the next, with an open mind, heart and spirit for whatever adventures await.
I have been avidly reading all of the tips and advice I can find on the internet of those who have gone before me. Pickpockets be damn. "Dont mess with me baby, unless you want a knee in the groin and an elbow to the chin." I have gathered together my "pharmacy" of medicial aids in the event of the unexpected casuality. And I have selected those items from my closet that will look "elegant" but casual and comfortable. My choice is for carry-on luggage. I dont need to lug an extra suitcase along for gifts to bring back home. This trip is for me. It is a gift to myself. And, at "almost" 70, I figure it is well earned and well deserved.
